Christine Matthäi - and her wonderful photo exhibition at "Clavature Clive T." in Bologna

Today I'd like to dedicate a post to Christine Matthäi, an amazing photographer and extraordinary woman. I had the pleasure to meet Christine through a common friend a few weeks ago and I was impressed by her inner strength and positive attitude towards life.
When I had a look at her pictures, I was totally captured by their beauty.
As she said in an interview - which you can find here http://www.wildriverreview.com/Interview/light-of-innocence/christine-matthai/nagy-kim/Apr-2010) - photagraphy is for her ".... painting the images I capture with light and then playing with and altering them".
Below you can find some of the photographs she took during her last stay in Bologna.
She is definitely picturing Bologna in a unique, personal way, reinventing the traditional city landmarks with a modern, dynamic, colorful style.
Have a look at these wonderful pics...

Christine has a unique personal history. Originally born in former East Germany (where she studied textile engineering and design at the Fashion Institute in East Berlin) she escaped the country when she was 23 and moved to New York City.
Here she worked as a photographer's assistant and later served as a photo correspondent for foreign magazines. She studied both film (New York Film Academy) and took courses in photography (Parsons School of Design).  She is now represented by Lumas, Tulla Booth Gallery and her work is collected by numerous clients worldwide.
