Naama Bezalel - vintage queen of Israel

I am in Tel Aviv ..and this town is surprisingly lively, full of young people and good vibrations. Yesterday I took a walk in the city center, in the shopping area, close to Dizengoff Center,
I found many nice little shops selling amazing clothes.
I really loved Naama Bezalels shop, the modern vintage queen of Israel.
Her dresses are made with a particular eye for clean cuts and, although newly produced, it is like you have picked the dress straight out of your grandmother’s wardrobe but given it a modern twist of your own.

I love Bezalel’s design  and her clothes are wearable, well tailored and so utterly feminine.
Have a look at  http://www.naamabezalel.com/ to see more.

Fashion paper dolls

Before there was polyvore, there were…paper dolls. The 20th century Danish illustrator Christel [Marott]   made adorable illustrations of 50s and 60s era fashions which  look refreshingly modern  today.
Christel Marott [1919-1992] made her debut as a professional illustrator at the age of 17, and remained a highly sought-after artist for fashion magazines throughout the 20th century, including Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue.

Wearable plants

Miniature Icosahedron in Aqua: A Wearable Planter

Bloom Planter: A Wearable Planter

Wouldn't you like to carry around a small plant with you during the day? This necklace will let you do just that, and also bring  fresh air along with you. The icosahedron is a form that has inspired artists and scientists for centuries with its symmetry and elegance. This piece adds a bit of geometric flair to any outfit as well!

This wearable planter is created digitally with modeling software and is then 3d printed out of nylon and hand dyed and sealed.

These planters are the creation of Colleen Jordan and grew out of a semester-long research project that she was working on at Georgia Tech. You can buy them from her Etsy store for $55 each.

Roni Kantor- vegan leather shoes from Israel

My daily discovery today  is the beautiful shop "Roni Kantor Vintage" from Tel Aviv, Israel, that produces a lovely shoes collection! The "Winter 2012" collection is inspired from original vintage designs and produced in a small and cozy family factory exclusively with 100 % ecologic vegan leather!
Located in an old fashion styled apartment on the 2nd floor of a preserved building in Tel Aviv`s most lovely blvd, the shop - from the pics- seems to be full with nostalgic atmosphere and vintage inspired garments (shoes, bags and belts are made from high quality vegan leather).
I just love it!

Magò East Africa= African fabric + Italian Design

African fabrics and Italian design is the synthesis of MAGO’ East Africa a clothing line and brand created in Zanzibar in 2006 by Margherita Marvasi (orginally from Bologna!!) who developed it in cooperation with a Tanzanian professional team. The business idea of MAGO’ is to produce unique clothing and accessories of the highest quality in Zanzibar. And the production is fair with an aim to make as little environmental impact as possible.
MAGO’ produces in small and limited numbers and each piece is entirely hand made, followed, cut and sewn by a single tailor with great attention given to details. The result is a collection of shirts, dresses, skirts and accessories tailor made with high quality standards in colorful patterns.
From 2010 the brand is also sold in Rio de Janeiro and Sweden. In 2011 opened the second brand store in Stone Town, Zanzibar (Magò Boutique and Magò Studio).

Taranta Shoes - When fashion meets tradition to create beautiful shoes

I am always looking for young, creative designers who want to promote their work through my blog...when - a few days ago- I was contacted by Erica Valentini and saw what her website....it was love at first sight!
Erica is the designer of the Taranta shoes, shoes inspired by the famous dance from Salento, Puglia, Italy.
Her shoes are beautiful, original in the shape and  available in a wide range of colors and materials, all created from a template of spider …
A few simple gestures and a pair of nodes are enough to transform the 2D shape in a greta shoe.
You can buy the Taranta shoes online at www.tarantashoes.com.... believe me....they are truly unique!

Jeremy Scott - the art of making strange/beautiful sunglasses

I have just realized that I never posted pics and news about sunglasses (and actually glasses in general). I recently came to notice the sunglasses designed by the designer Jeremy Scott in collaboration with the  renowned eyewear maker Linda Farrow. Consisting of unique and special pieces,  a piece features hands covering the lens, a piece features Scott’s much aligned ‘wings’ design, another one features hearts, his collection is so different and unique... http://jeremyscott.com/
