Chizu Kobayashi and Silvia Gaiani present MIRELLE vintage bags

Yesterday it was a big success at Matta e Goldoni, a fantastic shop in Via delle Moline 1/c, Bologna.
Chizu Kobayashi (http://www.chizkobject.com) and myself presented our bags (Chizu designed and made the butterfly you see on the bags in the pics). All bags are unique, they are made of vintage fabrics from all over the world (some of them come from my grandpa's cabinet). They can be order online by sending me an email at mirelle74@gmail.com and the prices depend on the model...and pls, keep in mind that although the model is the same, fabrics can vary...just tell me the colour you prefer and I ll do my best to stick to your request :)

A preview of Mirelle's vintage butterfly bag

Hi to everyone. I haven t updated my blog recently for a number of reasons...but the main one is that I have been busy preparing my FIRST collection of handmade bags ...
The butterfly bag you can see above is made with upholstery fabrics from the 40s  and the butterfly decoration has been designed and made by Chizu Kobayashi, a great Japanese artist who does marvellous things with iron, plastic, metals and plexiglas . We have been working together for the last 6 months and she is a great source of inspiration to me.
A part from the butterfly bag, my collection is made up of shopper bags, week end bags, clutches and much more. Each piece is unique, the same fabrics is never used more than one time.
I ll present all my bags at Matta e Goldoni, a super cosy clothes shop in Bologna city center.
Mirelle bags will be soon available on line...but in the meanwhile..if you are interested in buying (I ship overseas) or knowing more about them...send an email to mirelle74@gmail.com and I ll answer back as soon as I can.
xoxo

Avigail Adam- beautiful head bands from Israel

All right I think it is pretty clear that I am in my "Israeli" mood... the point is that I really liked all the young creative people I met in Tel Aviv. Avigail Adam is one of them. She is a young jewelry designer and I met her at her stall in Dizengoff Street last Thursday.

Avigail Adam was born and raised in Jerusalem, she graduated from the department of Archaeology in the Hebrew university and after 4 years of traveling around the world she came back and started working as a fashion and beauty journalist.
She designs head bands inspired by her worldly travels, as well as her studies of ancient culture. Other inspirations come from mythology and fairy tales. The head bands are sold in local prestigious boutiques, as well as boutiques located in some of the best fashion capitals of the world. You can also find the head bands starring in commercials, fashion editorials as well as on the heads of the beautiful and famous.

All right yes, I bought the head band below :))

Shopping in Frishman Street, Tel Aviv

My last day in Tel Aviv has gone so fast. I wish I had more time to go exploring this amazing town ...I do love it and it has been such an expected discovery to me.
I must say that the city is vibrant, full of second hand and vintage clothes. A great website is http://www.telavivme.com/Fashion/articles/28/Vintage-Cool+in+Tel-Aviv.
I do suggest to visit it if you are interested in fashion and want to discover Israeli designers and hidden shops.
Anyway yesterday I took a walk and stepped in the beautiful shop below...located in Frishman Street is a true treasure where you can find great clothes. I took the pics on a VERY sunny day with my iphone so some of them don't really look perfect :)
