A night walk through Bologna city centre

Last night I couldn't sleep. I was home alone (my Husbee is in Budapest trying to assemble our new furniture..GOOD LUCK Husbee) so I decided to take a walk and go to the city centre.
My apartment is almost 1,5 Km from the main square (piazza Maggiore) so I thought that walking was a good idea to release stress (I am a bit under pressure lately) and breath some fresh air.

Here are some of the pics I took during my walk.

Pics 1-2-3. Gamberini, in Via Ugo Bassi, is an excellent bar/caffeteria/bakery (actually one of the best in town).
Each time I pass by its window, I have to stop and look at the beautiful cakes they display (and yes, it's impossible not to be tempted!!)

Pic 4. Altero, the best pizza take away in town (and only a few steps away from Gamberini). I mean, everyone who is from Bologna knows Altero (it's always crowded, well maybe not at 22.00) and serves the best pizza slices for as little as 1-1,20 euro!

Pics 6 -5 FURLA, selling high street bags and accessories. Apparently colourful, plastic bags will be a trend this spring/summer (I am still not sure if I like them or not :)

Pic 7. Muji, one of my favourite (Japanese) shops. It recently opened in Bologna. I am always enchanted by its simple designs (and very good quality).

Pic 8. Another lovely shop, "Bianco", selling beautiful (and expensive) clothes in Via Marchesana

Pic 9. La taverna del Postiglione (http://www.tavernadelpostiglione.it/presentazione/presentazione_EN.htm) a romantic and excellent restaurant a few steps away from Piazza Maggiore, again in Via Marchesana (try the tagliatelle al ragu- tagliatelle with meat sauce! Unless you are vegetarian, you will love them!)

Unfortunatley I could not take more pics as my camera battery was very low....but I ll take another night walk and add more images very soon!!

Marco Fadiga Bistrot- Bologna

Ok, you may think I am always out for dinner...and I splurge money on expensive meals..but this week is a sort of exception...and anyway tonight I didn't really eat out. Me and my Husbee reached a couple of friends who were having dinner in one of the best fish restaurants in Bologna.
This restaurant- but the owner calls it the French way bistrot- is a hidden treausure. It is located in the city center but it's not really visible from the street (via Rialto). You have to walk on the right side of the street if you come from the main central streets...at some point you will see the sign of the bistrot...you have to enter a small court and you will find yourself inside the restaurant.
A lovely, lovely place..the walls are pink with big mirrors...and you can eat the best seafood ever (oysters, shrimps, lobsters, fish tartare) accompanied by the best champagne. and the desserts are so yummy: we had cream with maracuja juice....STELLAR!!

Here is the website of the Bistrot. http://www.marcofadigabistrot.com/
Be ready to pay a lot (I mean a lot) but it is worth every penny (or cent in this case)

Restaurant "Paolo"- Bologna

There is a nice little restaurant (well, actually it is more a bar) very close to the city center in Bologna.
The restaurant's name is Paolo- which is also the name of the owner.
My Husbee took me there tonight (thank you lovely Husbee for not asking me to cook). Paolo is located in Piazza di Porta San Mamolo, a nice and green area.

We had fabulous meatballs and rigatoni with cheese, tomato and basil. This is my happy face just before dinner!
I love the friendly atmosphere at Paolo's, the excellent food and the furniture (very, very 70s!)

the picture was taken by Husbee with his backberry...so it's definitely not a top quality image, but I like it anyway!
