Wall stickers at In Situ - Budapest

I think wall stickers are a nice - and affordable - way to decorate a house.
When I was in Budapest I visited - totally accidentally - a shop called In Situ which is located in Budapest's center,  next to Astoria square at Múzeum körút 7 in a patio and sells beautiful wall stickers.

Here is the shop

And here are some of the nice wall stickers they sell

The shop sells actually a wide range of design objects like bags, hanging clocks, jewels, and yes....my beloved lomo camera as well!!!
Take a look at the shop's website at http://insitu.hu/ws/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=73

A sunset walk by the Danube in Budapest

Tomorrow I am going back to Bologna, so tonight I took a long walk and enjoyed the view of Budapest at sunset.
It is a shame I left my Nikon at home (it was definitely too big for my hand luggage and Wizzair seems to be quite strict in terms of regulations)..because the pics I took with my handy digital camera don t come out that well...anyway, here are just some of the many pics I took (most of them were blurred even if my hand was not shaking!)

Hungarian Posters from the 1970s

I have just arrived in Budapest where I ll spend the next 4 days... I came here just to make sure that the last pieces of furniture have been assembled well (and of course many of them are just the wrong size/shape)...and to enjoy the city in spring time (actually I had forgotten how beautiful Budapest is in April/May).
I have also finally bought the movie Magyar Retro, the documentary that contains scenes from Hungary in the 60s and 70s. I ll watch it tonight, but in the meanwhile I have found a fantastic Hungarian website that sells posters from the 1970s....

Here are just some of them....I am thinking of buying some of them and hang them all over the house!

Irina Werning - back to the future

Today I came across a project today called ‘Back to the Future’ by photographer Irina Werning and just wanted  to share it with you. I think its quite genius.
She is a young Argentinian photographer who says about herself and her project:

I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today… A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future...

I think it's simply amazing!

SNOB - only for super rich Russians

More than two months ago I was in London and while I was walking, my attention got attracted by a huge billboard in Russian.

I took a picture of it and decided to investigate what was it about...and I discovered that it was the ad for a luxury magazine called SNOB, which has been recently founded by Mikhail Prokhorov, a Russian billionaire.
Snob is aimed at the so-called global Russian, who lives anywhere in the world, but who is linked to every other Snob reader through the language and the culture of Russia.
Snob magazine is published only in Russian and is available in New York, London, and Moscow. It is closely linked to an online social network launched by Prokhorov two years ago.
Readers of Snob magazine are expected to be between 35 and 50, earn $50,000 to $100,000 a year and be part of an internationally minded group of Russians with similar interests.

Ask your Russian friends to read it to you...what a smart ad!

Here is the link to the magazine (only in Russians of course)
and the link to a presentation that explains the ideas and concepts beyond th

I wonder if it could be possible to publish such a magazine in Italian...if it would have the same appeal... I love the idea of a glossy magazine in Italian for the Italian community living abroad ..

Liliana Torpedine - just an amazing shop in the heart of Bologna city center

Before leaving for Africa, one Saturday morning in March- during one of my usual stroll in the city center- I discovered a beautiful shop in the heart of Bologna city center, very close to the Two Towers.
The shop - which sells vintage and new clothes, accessories, and also unique gadgets- is run by a fantastic lady, Liliana, who has opened her business moved by her passion for beautiful objects and fashion.
I must say that the atmosphere inside the shop- located in Palazzo Lupari, a stunning old building- is truly magic and talking to Liliana - and find out the stories of many pieces she sells- is a unique experience!!

Here are some of the pics I took.

And this is Liliana, a living example of style...

Liliana Torpedine' s shop is located in Via del Luzzo 4, Palazzo Lupari, Bologna.

Some little treasures I have found at my parents house

Old metal and paper boxes ...full of colorful cottons. This is the little treasure I found today at my parents house. They belonged to my grandfather who was a taylor and upholster..I wish I could sew the way he did...but unfortunately I am not even close to being good...
I wonder what I should do with these beautiful cottons...any ideas?
